Katakana Literary Work

                                                         Recycling Advertisement

This is a can recycling advertisement. The katakana "カエス クダサイ" used in the right corner is what the cans want to complain. It literally means "Return Me Please!". I used katakana because of emphasis purpose. "リサイクル" is a loanword , means "recycling".

  1. This is a cute advertisement! Did you design the can yourself? Also, I think that Katakana would reach a broader swath of Japanese people, and therefore would make sense in an ad such as this one.

    1. Thanks Augustin-san! I didn't design the can myself, I found it on the internet.

  2. I like this ad. And it's legit--recycling should certainly be advocated. I like how the ad utilizes all three Japanese scripts (Kanji, Hiragana, Katakana) so it's not just appealing to viewers from a foreigner aspect like Katakana alone can oftentimes do. Also, curious to know--did you design the can? If so, quite impressive.

  3. Interesting ad! And the use of katakana for "カエス クダサイ" surely emphases the purpose and make the whole ad lively. Great job!

p.s.: Same as above, is this can your design? Really cute.
